Replacement coiled breakaway cable for caravans and trailers
This red coiled cable is a replacement pull cable for a compatible electric breakaway switch. If the trailer separates from the tow vehicle, the cable is intended to pull the switch pin so a correctly installed breakaway braking system can apply the trailer brakes. It is not a complete breakaway system.

Installation and towing safety
Connect the carabiner to a suitable secure attachment point approved by the tow-vehicle or towbar manufacturer. Route the cable so it cannot drag on the road, snag, bind or pull tight during normal turns. Test the complete breakaway system before travel and at the intervals specified by its manufacturer. NZTA requires fitted trailer brakes and towing connections to remain in safe working order.
