Build a monitored Victron lithium battery bank for your caravan, motorhome, boat or off-grid power system. Victron Lithium NG batteries use LiFePO4 chemistry and are available as 12.8V, 25.6V and 51.2V modules, with capacities from 100Ah to 300Ah.
The NG range adds detailed cell voltage, temperature and battery-current data for a compatible Victron BMS NG to manage. This makes it a strong choice for professionally designed Victron systems where accurate battery information, scalable storage and remote monitoring matter. Select Caravans supplies the range from Auckland to customers throughout New Zealand.
Important: a compatible Victron BMS NG is mandatory and must be purchased separately. These are not self-contained drop-in lithium batteries with an internal BMS. Confirm the battery voltage, capacity, BMS, charger, inverter, cabling and protection as one complete system before ordering.

| 51.2V 100Ah | 5.12 kWh | BAT548110620 |
Nominal energy is measured at 25°C with discharge current at or below 1C. Select the exact voltage and capacity shown in the variant selector.
How to choose the right voltage and capacity
- 12.8V models: generally selected for purpose-designed 12V systems, including many caravan, RV and marine house-battery installations.
- 25.6V models: intended for 24V-class systems where lower current can help with larger inverter and off-grid loads.
- 51.2V model: intended for professionally designed 48V-class energy systems.
- Capacity: choose Ah and kWh from a documented energy audit that accounts for appliances, inverter demand, solar yield, alternator charging, reserve time and expected depth of discharge.
Voltage is a system-design decision, not simply a choice based on the voltage printed on one appliance. If you are replacing AGM, lead-acid, Lithium Smart or another battery type, check the complete charging and protection system rather than assuming direct compatibility.
Why choose the Victron NG lithium range?
- Integrated battery data: the internal shunt sends voltage, current and temperature information to the BMS.
- Cell-level protection: integrated cell balancing and monitoring work with the external BMS to control charging and loads.
- Connected monitoring: view supported battery information through VictronConnect. A suitable GX device and internet connection can extend monitoring to the VRM Portal.
- Efficient storage: Victron specifies 92% round-trip efficiency.
- Documented cycle life: capacity remains at least 80% of nominal after 2,500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, 3,000 cycles at 70%, or 5,000 cycles at 50% under specified conditions.
- IP65 enclosure: protected against dust and low-pressure water jets when correctly installed. IP65 does not mean the battery can be submerged.
- Flexible mounting: mounting brackets are included. The battery can be installed upright or on its side, but never with the terminals facing down.
BMS, monitoring and system compatibility
Every Lithium NG installation requires a compatible Victron BMS NG. The correct BMS depends on the inverter or inverter-charger, maximum charge and discharge current, alternator arrangement, remote-control requirements and the rest of the Victron system. The BMS contains Bluetooth and manages the battery parameters automatically. The battery itself does not provide stand-alone Bluetooth monitoring without the BMS.
Lithium NG batteries can be used in series, parallel or series-parallel banks when designed within Victron's published limits. Multi-battery banks require correct matching, initial balancing, equal-current cabling, individual or string fusing and suitable main protection. Follow the current Victron battery and BMS manuals for the selected architecture.
Installation and operating checks
- Use the correct LiFePO4 charging profile and BMS-controlled chargers.
- Provide correctly sized DC cables, M8 terminal hardware, fuses and isolation for the system's prospective current.
- Secure the battery against movement using the supplied brackets or an approved strap arrangement.
- Victron specifies charging from +5°C to +50°C and discharging from -20°C to +50°C.
- Do not mix voltages or improvise a series bank from unmatched capacities or part numbers.
- Have high-current caravan, marine and off-grid installations designed and commissioned by a suitably qualified installer.
What is included?
- One Victron Lithium NG battery in the selected voltage and capacity
- Battery mounting brackets
Not included: BMS NG, charger, inverter or inverter-charger, GX device, battery cables, extension cables, fuses, isolators and DC distribution equipment unless separately listed.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Victron Lithium NG battery have a built-in BMS?
No. It includes cell monitoring, balancing and an integrated shunt, but a compatible external Victron BMS NG is mandatory and sold separately.
Is Lithium NG the same as Victron Lithium Smart?
No. They are different Victron battery generations with different BMS requirements. Check every connected component before changing from Lithium Smart to Lithium NG.
Which size is best for a caravan or motorhome?
Many caravan and motorhome systems use 12.8V batteries, but the correct capacity depends on your measured daily energy use, inverter loads, charging sources and desired reserve. A larger Ah figure is not automatically the right choice if the BMS, charging or installation space is unsuitable.
Can I connect multiple Lithium NG batteries together?
Yes, when the bank is designed within Victron's series and parallel rules. The correct BMS, battery matching, fusing and cable layout are essential. Follow the current manual rather than combining batteries by voltage alone.
Can I monitor the battery from my phone?
Yes, through a compatible BMS NG using VictronConnect. GX and VRM monitoring requires the appropriate GX device and communications setup.
