Victron Orion high-power 24V to 12V DC-DC converters
The Victron Orion high-power non-isolated DC-DC converter steps a 24V DC supply down to an adjustable 12V-class output for caravan, motorhome, marine, commercial vehicle and off-grid electrical systems. Choose a 25A or 70A model according to the continuous load and preferred terminal style.
These are high-current voltage converters, not Bluetooth-enabled smart DC-DC chargers. Victron states that the adjustable models can also be used for buffer charging a 12V starter or accessory battery in a 24V system when the installation and voltage setting are suitable.

Key features
- 18–35V DC input range for compatible 24V systems.
- Adjustable 10–15V output, factory set to 13.2V.
- 25A and 70A continuous-output options.
- Remote on/off connection avoids the need for a high-current switch in the input wiring.
- Adjustable models can be connected in parallel, up to five units, to increase available output current.
- Non-isolated design for systems where input and output share a common negative connection.
- IP20 enclosure for installation in a dry, protected and ventilated location.
- Temperature-controlled fan cooling on the 70A models.

Installation and compatibility
Select the model from the required continuous output current, cable connection and available mounting space. Because these converters are non-isolated, the input and output share a common negative. Choose an isolated converter where galvanic isolation is required.
Mount the unit in a dry, well-ventilated location and follow the Victron manual for cable sizing, fusing, remote on/off wiring, clearances and output-voltage adjustment. High-current DC installation should be completed or checked by a suitably qualified installer.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Orion 24/12 convert 24V to 12V?
Yes. It accepts 18–35V DC and provides an adjustable 10–15V output, factory set to 13.2V.
What is the difference between the two 70A variants?
Both provide adjustable 70A output. SKU ORI241270020 uses M6 bolt connections, while ORI241270030 is the version with binding posts. The binding-post model is not a fixed-output converter.
Can this be used as a battery charger?
Victron states that adjustable models can be used for buffer charging a 12V starter or accessory battery in an otherwise 24V system. For alternator charging that requires staged charging, Bluetooth configuration or engine-running detection, compare a Victron Orion-Tr Smart or Orion XS charger.
Can several units be connected in parallel?
Yes. Victron permits up to five adjustable units in parallel when the system is designed and installed correctly.
Is this suitable for exposed or wet locations?
No. These are IP20 units and should be installed in a dry, protected and ventilated location.
