Autoterm Air 2D and Air 4D 12V diesel heater kits
Choose an Autoterm 12V diesel air heater kit to suit your caravan, campervan, motorhome or other suitable vehicle cabin. Each variant combines an Air 2D or Air 4D heater with the selected controller and a single-outlet RV installation package.
These are 12V RV kits. Marine kits, 24V heaters and heater-only units are available separately. Correct heater sizing depends on the space being heated, insulation, expected outside temperature and duct layout. Contact our Auckland team before ordering if you would like help choosing.

What the kits include
The current supplier listings include the selected 12V Autoterm Air heater, the selected controller or controllers, an installation kit, fuel intake, 1 metre of model-appropriate heated-air ducting, one floor plate and two vents. RVD795 also explicitly includes the 7.5L tank noted above.
Package contents can change. Use the selected SKU as the reference and contact us if any component is essential to your installation.
Installation and safety planning
- Use diesel that complies with EN590 and follow the current Autoterm manual.
- Plan a dedicated 12V supply and do not interrupt power until the heater has completed its shutdown purge.
- Keep the first metre of heated-air ducting as straight as practical and avoid sharp bends.
- Use at least 60mm ducting for Air 2D and 90mm ducting for Air 4D at the heater.
- Where ducting branches, retain at least one outlet that cannot be closed.
- Do not draw heating air from an engine compartment. Keep combustion intake and exhaust correctly separated.
- Professional installation is recommended where fuel, exhaust, electrical or vehicle-body work is involved.

Frequently asked questions
Does every kit include a diesel tank?
No. The current supplier information explicitly includes a 7.5L tank only with RVD795. A tank is not listed with RVD796, RVD798, RVD802, RVD800 or RVD803.
Should I automatically choose the 4kW Air 4D?
Not necessarily. An oversized heater may spend more time operating at low output, while an undersized heater may struggle in colder conditions. Consider the heated volume, insulation, climate and duct design.
Which controller should I choose?
Choose Push Button or Simple Control for straightforward operation. Choose Comfort Control when you want the additional operating and temperature-control interface. The dual-controller variants include both listed controls.
Can these RV kits be used for a boat?
Choose a dedicated marine kit where marine mounting, exhaust and through-hull components are required. These variants are configured as RV kits.
Are the listed dimensions the packed shipping size?
No. They are the heater-unit dimensions. Packed kit dimensions and weights are not confirmed for every SKU.
Can Select Caravans help me choose?
