Choosing the right marine heater
Autoterm rates its Air 4D marine configurations for boats and yachts up to 48ft / 15m. Vessel length is only a starting point. Cabin volume, insulation, glazing, cruising climate and duct layout all affect the heat required, so confirm the design with a marine heating installer before ordering.
For a smaller cabin or lower heat demand, compare the Autoterm Air 2D 12V marine kit. For a caravan or motorhome installation, compare the Autoterm RV diesel heater kits.
Marine installation notes
- Installation must be planned and completed by a suitably qualified specialist in accordance with the current Autoterm instructions.
- Protect the heater and combustion-air intake from water ingress, including spray and overboard water.
- Route the combustion-air intake, exhaust, fuel line and electrical wiring with the required clearances.
- Maintain an uninterrupted 12V supply while the heater completes its shutdown and purge cycle.
- Use at least 90mm warm-air ducting up to the first branch to avoid overheating and heater damage.
