Autoterm Air 4D 12V heater unit only

Choose this Autoterm Air 4D when you need the 4kW diesel heater unit for a 12V campervan, motorhome, truck, off-highway vehicle or boat installation. Output adjusts from 1.0 to 4.0kW with 70 to 168m³/h of heated-air flow, giving an installer flexibility for steady background warmth or faster heating in colder conditions.

Before you order

Check RVD610 specification
Electrical system 12V DC only
Product scope Heater unit only
Not included Control panel and heated-air ducting
Fuel Diesel to EN590
Heating output 1.0 to 4.0kW
Heated-air flow 70 to 168m³/h

SKU RVD610

RV Supplies explicitly describes RVD610 as the heater unit only, with the control and ducting excluded. Its page does not list every other supplied part, so confirm the fuel, exhaust, wiring and mounting components before planning the installation.

If you still need a controller, fuel tank, floor plate, ducting and outlets, compare our Autoterm 12V diesel heater kits. The 4kW Air 4D kit options are separate products with installation components and a selected controller.

Installation and safe operation

This unit requires a compatible control, correctly designed hot-air ducting, a 12V electrical supply, diesel fuel system, combustion-air intake and exhaust. Installation should be completed by an experienced vehicle or marine heater installer in accordance with the current Autoterm manual.

  • Take heating air from a clean, protected space and never from an engine compartment.
  • Keep the combustion-air intake and exhaust correctly separated, with fuel lines and wiring protected from exhaust heat.
  • Start an AIR 4D duct system at the specified 90mm diameter. Keep the first metre as straight as practical and avoid sharp 90-degree bends.
  • If the hot-air system branches, retain at least one non-closable outlet to reduce overheating risk.
  • Connect the heater to uninterrupted power and never disconnect it before the shutdown purge cycle has finished.
  • Allow service access and maintain clear space around the heater inlet and outlet.

Frequently asked questions

Will this work with a 24V electrical system?

No. RVD610 is the 12V AIR 4D heater. Use a verified 24V model for a 24V installation.

Does it include a controller?

No. The supplier states that the control and heated-air ducting are not included. Choose compatible Autoterm controls and confirm all required installation parts before ordering.

Is this a complete diesel heater kit?

No. This page is for the heater unit only. Select a separate 12V AIR 4D kit if you need a controller, tank, floor plate, ducting and outlets supplied together.

How much power and diesel does it use?

Manufacturer figures range from 10 to 57W on the 12V model and approximately 0.12 to 0.514 litres of diesel per hour, depending on output.

Is 4kW suitable for my vehicle or boat?

The AIR 4D is designed for vans, campers, trucks, off-highway vehicles and boats. Correct sizing still depends on the heated space, insulation, climate and duct layout.

Can I install it myself?

Professional installation is strongly recommended because the fuel, electrical, exhaust, combustion-air and hot-air systems are safety-critical.
